Documented AWC company work

The ceiling patch and texture were complete. Primer and paint were not.

Documented AWC company work in San Diego County. This is not presented as a La Jolla project.

What the written record documents

The written record identified a ceiling opening left by earlier air-conditioning installation access. AWC supplied drywall repair materials recorded as drywall, joint compound, tape, screws, and texture. The record states that the ceiling opening was patched and texture was applied to match the existing ceiling surface. The same record explicitly states that priming and painting were not completed. Additional priming and painting were recommended as separate follow-up work. The status distinguishes the completed patch-and-texture stage from additional painting that remained pending.

Define the finish milestone

“Drywall repaired,” “texture complete,” “paint-ready,” “primed,” and “painted” describe different completion points. The proposal and closeout should state which milestone is included.

Connect the patch to the visible plane

The opening may be localized while texture, primer, or paint extends farther to reach a practical boundary. Compare those extents before approval rather than assuming they follow the same edge.

Record follow-up without rewriting history

When painting remains, close the completed drywall stage accurately and issue a separate approval path for the unfinished finish work. Do not call the room fully finished merely because the hole is closed.

List the work still open

When primer or paint remains, identify the exact ceiling or wall surface included in the follow-up decision. State whether the next approval covers only the repaired area, one complete ceiling plane, connected walls, trim, doors, or another clearly marked boundary. This keeps a completed patch from being mistaken for a fully painted room.

Useful next steps

Carry the finish boundary into approval and closeout.
